Luce would die for Daniel.

And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn't need to be that way....

Luce is certain that something - or someone - in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime...going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel...and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames...forever.

This book was all about finding out what it will take to break the curse of Luce and Daniel’s relationship. Daniel cannot get involved, it’s against the rules, so it is all up to Luce. What we find is the heartbreaking history of a guy who has loved this girl for centuries on end, and him losing her every time. We get to witness his suffering first hand with each life that Luce stumbles to in their past. But it helps Luce discover just how deep and real his love for her is, so that she will no longer question it or him. And!! We finally get to know the details of the curse and how it will be broken. That is, if Satan doesn’t mess it up for everyone.

One thing I really, really loved about Passion is that it is told in alternating POVs! Daniel gets every other chapter! In the past, Lauren Kate has made the Prologues and Epilogues from his point-of-view, and I’ve really enjoyed them, so I was ecstatic that he was in this book so much. We also get the stories of some of the other angels, and their fall from Heaven. And we get to see why Cam and Roland have sided with Hell, which was really cool to read about, but sad at the same time.

While I enjoyed the historical aspects of the different lives Luce stumbled into, I was kind of hoping that we would stop stumbling into them about halfway through the book. But they go on…back, and further back, all the way to the end of the book. I wanted her to get it sooner so that we could go back to the present and move forward! This is my only complaint, and it really frustrated me.

By the end, it is clear that this book is building up for the grand finale, the last stand, the big showdown….ok, you get it. I cannot wait to see how this all will end in Rapture, which will be released June 2012! Also! I’m really looking forward to Fallen in Love (January 2012)!!
